This recipe for keto french toast starts by making an egg loaf. Egg loaf is a low carb version of a quick bread with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Keto French Toast Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened at room temperature
- 4 eggs
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons sugar free sweetener
- 1/3 cup coconut flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Keto French Toast Directions

Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix ingredients
Add cream cheese, eggs, butter, heavy cream, vanilla, sugar free sweetener, coconut flour, baking powder and cinnamon to a bowl or blender and mix together until cream cheese is fully incorporated.

Pour into a loaf pan
Pour into a loaf pan lined with damp parchment paper. Leave a couple of inches of parchment paper hanging over the edges for easy lifting out of the pan.

Bake
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. The loaf should be firm to the touch but will deflate as it cools. Once cooled slice up into the desired thickness.

Our French toast loaf is made with lots of eggs of course to help give volume, but don’t worry, it shouldn’t taste like egg or an omelet. The cream cheese in this keto bread recipe helps to cut out that eggy flavor from the low carb bread.

For freezer storage, store the egg loaf wrapped in plastic wrap and store in a freezer safe bag for up to 3 months. To freeze individual slices of french toast, flash freeze the french toast slices on a plate in the freezer. Once frozen, pack in a freezer safe bag and store for up to 3 months.

Traditional French toast can have about 16 grams of carbs per slice and that's not counting the amount of sugar and carbs that comes from the syrup poured on top.The carbs in this low carb French toast recipe is minimal. There are only 2.8 g net carbs per slice of keto toast and that is a thick slice too! Once you add the sugar syrup, depending on how much you pour on, you are looking at another 1-2 grams of net carbs for your sugar-free French toast.

Have this in the oven and was reviewing my steps because my batter was way more runny than yours (I blended ingredients in a blender). I noticed in the video you stated 1/4 cup coconut flour, but the written instructions state 1/3 cup of coconut flour, which is what I used. Even then, batter consistency was different. I am hoping this still turns out well. Please advise if it is 1/3 or 1/4 cup of flour.

I have done both for this recipe. The batter will thicken as the coconut flour absorbs some of the liquid.
