Phillips Exeter Academy Reviews
Rating 4.35 out of 5 340 reviews
Rating 5 out of 5
Phillips Exeter Academy (Exeter) is renowned for its rigorous academics, vibrant community, and commitment to fostering intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills. Many students praise its Harkness method of teaching, which encourages collaborative discussion and debate among peers. This approach often leads to rich, dynamic classroom experiences where students learn not only from their teachers but also from one another.
One of the best parts of the Exeter experience is its diverse and supportive community. With students from all over the world, Exeter offers a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and broadening of perspectives. Additionally, the school provides ample resources and support systems to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
One area for potential improvement could be in ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities for all students, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.

Of the schools we looked at for both of my children the academic experience far outpaces those we saw at other schools. The depth and breadth of the curriculum combined with the Harkness learning has been remarkable. Outside of the classroom, both of my children have been 3-sport athletes and have had the opportunity to try new sports in addition to developing in those areas in which they already had skill. Exeter truly embodies "Youth from Every Quarter," bringing together an incredibly diverse student body which is wonderful for everyone. Lastly, my children have enjoyed the incredible array of student clubs as well.

I had an amazing experience at pea. The Harknes method is a great way to learn and is something I have missed a lot since going to college. You learn great skills for the future such as public speaking and how to have intellectual conversations. The athletics were an integral part of my experience and could not have had more of a positive effect. The rivalry of E/a is super fun and the coaches there are great!
