With all these forums having their forum knives. Wonder about a Talkblade Forum knife? How about a 9 1/2 inch leverlock with giraffe bone scales and a damascus blade?

What about everyone getting one of tanto's Mikov "kits" and seeing what each of us could do with it? Could even be a constest of sorts...

Good idea, but I think that a survey to determine the members preference would be appropriate. Also, dexter, what about the custom engraving? Could it be done?

I would be very interested. The SKM forum has sentimental value to me. It is what got me started into collecting, satisfying a 35 year quest for the forbidden fruit. In fact, it was the likes of Vagrant, Greyblade, Wally, Gort, Lefty, Switch67, and others who took the time to answer my elementary questions and cement my addiction to our hobby about a year ago. My vote for a forum knife is a 9 or 11 in., stag or horn dagger blade stiletto. To me, these knives define the term "switchblade". OK, the blade style could also be standard or bayonet.

Hi!

We can laser engrave the TalkBlade.Info writing on any knife. Now, just choose it. Talkblade Forum Knife - TalkBlade.Info Knife Forums (4) However, keep in mind that we can't currently apply particular blades/handles on lever locks. The "more customizable" knives are the Italian Stilettos 9" and 11".

I was hoping for a partially serrated Leverlock [9 1/2"] with the Yellow/Black, Red/Black, or Black/White Scales.
For a Stiletto Briarwood/Damascus [or ATS-34] Clip point Blade like the
manual Stilettos have. That would be very unusual. I still want someone
[besides the Americans] to make a Switchblade with two [different] auto
opening blades. How about a Stiletto with a Bayonet blade and a Clip point blade? [Both spring opening].

On Stilettos I like natuaral handles [Horn, Stag etc.] but on Leverlocks I like almost anything. [The Frostwood are my LEAST favorite but even they are nice]. I would love to see the old two tone Acrylics retrurn. I know another dealer that asks me about them every time he sees me.

I guess I wasn't really thinking when I suggested Mikovs. Of course the knife should be an AB, 1) because AB is kind enough to host this great forum and 2) Italian autos are the quintessential switchblades. I've developed an urge to try some customizing, if only replacing stock scales with something of my own design. Maybe that comes from ogling all those beautiful knives by Burn, Hermit, Wizard, Nemo et al. But are y'all talking about selecting one knife and leaving it at that? Wouldn't we all get a little tired of just one knife, no matter how great it may be? I still like the idea of something like custom "knife of the month" photos contributed by forum regulars. I'm thinking we'd see some very creative approaches, considering the variety of ..."interesting"... minds that frequent this forum.

Or have I missed the idea entirely?

I'd go for an 9" lever with damascus blade with horn handle...Dark or light...Either way they would be great.

Hi,I think short of building a knife to all our exact requirements(fat chance of that) we should go with the 15" stilletos as they are the more authentic quality of the originals.I already have several and they make a great centre piece of any display case.We can get them laser engraved with the Talkblade info logo.I think they will look real cool, and it will give me the little excuse I need to buy another one. Also if anybody buys an imitation horn one at the same time I buy my real horn one we can compare notes on the other thread!Maybe as we are such good customers,Dexter can throw in one of his new S.K.M., A/B ,Talkblade Forum T shirts!! Spotlight Kid,

I agree with you about the 15's. I have a real horn, bayonet blade model that is the centerpiece of my collection. Plus, those 15's sure are fun to fire...thwaaaccckkk.

All,

Are we serious about this or not? There seems to be interest, but the thread appears to be dying. We know that SKM will do the engraving, so it is a matter of what knife and how many. Obviously, the choice will have to come from SKM knives.

I am certainly not trying to dictate things, but am just sharing my thoughts. I think that the stiletto is the classic switchblade, and large ones might be cost prohibitive for some of us. What about a 9 (or 11) inch bayonet blade stiletto in horn or stag? SKM is on vacation (as is the entire country) now, so we can't find out how the engraving would be done. If it is done by CNC, then maybe we could get the logo used in the upper left corner of the page.

Other thoughts and who would be interested???

I'm very interested, but the Psycho kitchen knife logo is lame.
A skull and cross knives (stilettos) would be cool though.

Gort,

Come to think of it, you are right about using a kitchen knife as part of the logo. Perhaps a stiletto could be substituted and the font style and angle be retained.
