The Umatilla County Correctional Facility, a state-of-the-art institution with a capacity of 252 beds, is dedicated to balancing the protection of the public with the safety and well-being of both staff and inmates. Our dedicated staff, certified through the State of Oregon, undergo 40 hours of annual training to ensure a secure environment. Comprising 32 full-time personnel operating in 12-hour shifts and 19 support staff, we manage an annual intake and release of approximately 4,383 inmates, along with various programs that keep us actively engaged.

Our inmate phone system is provided by Viapath Technologies, enabling only inmates to initiate calls. If you wish to contact an inmate, you can choose to leave a voicemail (up to 3 minutes), send a letter, or visit during official visitation hours. Inmates initiate calls, and you may hear an automated message when receiving a call. For those without calling funds, the initial call may be brief and free, allowing the inmate to explain the calling process. Subsequently, you can choose to pay via credit card to continue the call, deposit funds for the inmate to use for future calls, or deposit funds to your own number for future calls from the inmate.
