Is Kendall's daughter Sophie adopted? ›

Sophie, whose background is never discussed explicitly but is played by Indian-American actor Swayam Bhatia, was evidently adopted by Kendall and Rava; while Iverson is implied to have been conceived with sperm from a donor.

Sophie Roy is the adopted daughter of Kendall and Rava Roy, and older sister to Iverson Roy.

It was previously theorized that both of Kendall's children were adopted, but in the Succession finale, Roman reveals that only one of them was adopted. The other was conceived via a sperm donor.

What Roman meant about “bloodline” is suggesting, not-so-subtly, that Kendall's children weren't biologically his, and therefore that he wasn't worthy of carrying on the Roy's family legacy.

Roman responds by saying that Shiv is the true bearer of the family's bloodline. He calls Kendall's children—an adopted daughter and, Roman hints, a son possibly conceived via sperm donor—a “pair of randos.” Roman's implication is that they aren't real Roys.

Roman Roy and Shiv Roy are definitely siblings in Succession, but the show has hinted that the two characters are actually twins. Succession mainly focuses on the Roy family, with all four of Logan Roy's children being major players in the critically-acclaimed HBO series.

Keen viewers might remember that in the pilot episode of Succession, Kieran Culkan's character, Roman Roy, had a wife and a child. In the end, Tom keeps Greg around, despite the fact that he sold him out by telling Kendall about Matsson's plan to ditch Shiv. Tom tells Greg, “I got you,” and puts that purple sticker on his forehead. The same sticker that was being used to divide up Logan's things.

Iverson Roy is the son of Kendall and Rava Roy, and younger brother of Sophie Roy. He is portrayed by Quentin Morales.
